If you’re reading this, I’m already on a plane to India. After a brief stop in Zurich, we’ll be arriving in Mumbai (old name: Bombay) to spend time with some good friends and take part in a wedding.

First I want to encourage you to donate to the Menu for Hope - I’ve introduced it, sent out a plea for donations, and given you some prize highlights. What more are you waiting for? You have until tomorrow evening to donate, and my prize, the Artigianale Basket still has very good odds that you’ll be the winner!! Remember prize code: EU27, and send in your donation. Great job to everyone this year, I can’t wait to see what the final tally is!

Last year I showed you Milan at Christmas time, and there were two huge Christmas trees in the center, only meters from the other. I think the Comune must have understood how badly their tree looked compared to the Svarowsky tree and decided to eliminate the competition for this year.

This year the Comune’s tree looks much better, and less like the tree from Charlie Brown’s Christmas.

In place of the Svarowsky tree? The Galleria di Vittorio Emmanuele has a beautiful ceiling of blue lights, and I suspect tons of Svarowsky crystals hanging from it, which glittered continuously. It had a calming effect on me, even though the Galleria was packed to the gills with people!

Via Dante (I love the art show on the sidewalk - you can see one of the prints on the right side of the pic)

This sleigh and reindeer were missing a Babbo Natale (Santa Claus) but I loved how you could see the holiday greetings in many languages that were being projected on the building behind it.

Here’s the 360 degree view of the Piazza del Duomo in Milan, Christmas time 2007! Notice that the Duomo is still covered in ads even though it looks like the face is done after 4 years.

Happy Holidays - I’ll be back in the New Year!
