I don’t usually play online, but there are some sites that have online games that change every day or that you can print out. It is addictive! I have a bit of history with these types of games, I even brought over a book of logic “grid” puzzles from the States.

Second, when the situation doesn’t allow me to pull out my Sudoku book and mechanical pencil, I listen to the podcasts I found for learning Chinese and I have to say I am picking up the tones quite well, though practicing on the metro can get you in a lot of trouble. I usually try to practice on my low-level English students who wouldn’t understand if it was English anyway. So far I don’t have money for the premium services or a teacher, but one has to have dreams! I think they are entertaining.

And, as a tribute to my friend Carol who celebrated her 30th birthday last night in SF (and I have it on good authority, hugging a toilet bowl in the club bathroom), you might want to check out and article about the most fattening drinks here and see the slideshow to find out how we are screwing ourselves twice when we drink. Though, I have to say my favorite, the mojito, came in at No. 9 at only 160 calories per drink. Well, I guess Splenda and diet cranberry juice it is! Although I have to say Diet Vanilla coke & Vodka could be a nice substitute.

I am currently very obsessed with Sudoku, a number game that is infecting most of Europe after starting in Japan.
