If you&#8217;d like to participate on the Tour del Gelato, just check the directions on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msadventuresinitaly.com\/blog\/tour-del-gelato-blogroll\" target=\"_blank\">Tour del Gelato blogroll page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Some housekeeping:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I&#8217;m participating in (Dessert First) Anita Chu&#8217;s<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/dessertfirst.typepad.com\/dessert_first\/2008\/11\/field-guide-to-cookies---the-blog-tour.html\" target=\"_blank\">The Field Guide to Cookies Book Tour!<\/a><\/strong> Check back this Thursday for a recipe from her fabulous book, and visit the other bloggers involved in the meantime!<\/li>\n<li>If you&#8217;re an Expat Blogger in Italy, and you don&#8217;t see your blog on my <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.msadventuresinitaly.com\/blog\/expat-blogs-in-italy\/\" target=\"_blank\">Expat Blogs in Italy list<\/a><\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msadventuresinitaly.com\/blog\/contact-me\/\" target=\"_blank\">contact me<\/a> to be added!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>One of the highlights of spending so much time in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msadventuresinitaly.com\/blog\/category\/italy\/puglia\/\" target=\"_blank\">Puglia<\/a>, and in Manfredonia to be more specific is my close proximity to one of my favorite gelaterias, <strong>Gelateria da Tommasino!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s an institution in Manfredonia, and while it doesn&#8217;t have a flashy patio for seating or even an indoors for when it&#8217;s raining, it&#8217;s always packed. What if I told you it had been taken at 2am? Or that at midnight on a weekend, I found myself with the number 14 &#8211; <strong>a mere 42 people between me and my beloved gelato<\/strong>. I think the only time I&#8217;ve seen lines longer are at the Questura (police station) managing work visas.<\/p>\n<p>Needless to say, I took a few turns around the park and came back to find my number was approaching.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a title=\"Waiting in Line at Gelateria da Tommasino, in Puglia, Italy by MsAdventuresinItaly, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/msadventuresinitaly\/3020882423\/\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3181\/3020882423_4575c2e976.jpg?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"Waiting in Line at Gelateria da Tommasino, in Puglia, Italy\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>So, how&#8217;s the gelato?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;d have to say it&#8217;s in my <strong>Top 5 Gelaterias in Italy<\/strong>, and the prices mean that it will always have a place in my top rankings, and in my stomach.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, did I not mention the prices? It is by far the <strong>cheapest (good!!) gelateria I&#8217;ve found in Italy<\/strong>, with cups and cones starting at<strong> just 1 euro<\/strong>! And these aren&#8217;t kiddie servings. The cone below was the next size up at 1.50euro. You can use the wafer as a benchmark for the size &#8211; I&#8217;ve never even ordered the 2 euro size.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a title=\"Pistachio and Cream Gelato and Whipped Cream from Gelateria da Tommasino in Puglia, Italy by MsAdventuresinItaly, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/msadventuresinitaly\/3021713314\/\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3275\/3021713314_ffd4e9e8d1.jpg?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"Pistachio and Cream Gelato and Whipped Cream from Gelateria da Tommasino in Puglia, Italy\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you can&#8217;t come to Manfredonia, don&#8217;t worry. Tommasino has their gelato, and more specifically their <strong>Ice Cream Cassata<\/strong> in many of the restaurants up and down the Pugliese coast.<\/p>\n<p>If you do come to Manfredonia, a caveat: this gelateria is most definitely <strong>not open all day<\/strong>, so plan your stop accordingly.
