{"id":678,"date":"2008-10-22T06:17:59","date_gmt":"2008-10-22T06:17:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.msadventuresinitaly.com\/blog\/?p=678"},"modified":"2008-10-22T06:20:15","modified_gmt":"2008-10-22T06:20:15","slug":"5-things-i-love-about-san-francisco","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.msadventuresinitaly.com\/blog\/2008\/10\/22\/5-things-i-love-about-san-francisco\/","title":{"rendered":"5 Things I Love About San Francisco"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fall weather always turns me a little nostalgic, and especially the thought of so many months ahead which could grace us with a mild winter or a terribly cold one has me thinking about summer.<\/p>\n<p>I haven&#8217;t shared many pictures of my trip back to the U.S. this summer, but for today, I&#8217;m going to share <strong>&#8220;5 Things I Love About San Francisco&#8221;<\/strong> &#8211; maybe they&#8217;re not the Top 5, ever, but they are definitely things I&#8217;m loving and thinking about today. <\/p>\n<p>If you feel like playing along, you&#8217;re welcome to do &#8220;5 Things I Love About ______&#8221; on your own blog (with pictures!), and either comment here, or send me an email and I&#8217;ll add it to the bottom of the post!<\/p>\n<h3>5 Things I Love About San Francisco<\/h3>\n<p>(in no particular order)<\/p>\n<p><strong>5. A sign in Noah&#8217;s Bagels that politely states to their customers there is &#8220;No Need to Tip&#8221; &#8211; absolutely refreshing and definitely unique. I am definitely spoiled living in Italy &#8211; I can&#8217;t remember the last time I tipped anyone for anything. In San Francisco I was often at odds with my friends because they were giving 20% tips to taxi drivers whose &#8220;performance&#8221; narrowly killed us each time.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/msadventuresinitaly\/2960234475\/\" title=\"No Need to Tip - Noah's Bagels in San Francisco by MsAdventuresinItaly, on Flickr\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3240\/2960234475_d614c8741a.jpg?resize=500%2C375\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" alt=\"No Need to Tip - Noah's Bagels in San Francisco\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Dungeness Crab and Food Bloggers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Maybe those two things can&#8217;t get grouped together in your mind, but in mine, they can. These fried Dungeness crabs were one of my favorites dishes the night I had the honor to dine with 11 wonderful food bloggers during the BlogHer conference in July, many of whom live in the area. If you want to discover some great Bay Area food bloggers, <a href=\"http:\/\/becksposhnosh.blogspot.com\">Sam from Becks &#8216;n Posh Nosh<\/a> consistently presents some Bay Area blogs. <\/p>\n<p>Finally I can say it was great to meet all of you! (Good) Street Performers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>They&#8217;ve got rhythm, they&#8217;ve got unique style, and they&#8217;re always entertaining. The Culture.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At a local bookstore display for &#8220;San Francisco Culture,&#8221; I thought the selection of books was appropriate, except for the cover of BUTT; the model is curled up into the fetal position.
