Right now I’m craving a maritozzo<\/em><\/strong>, a bread roll (sweet, but not too sweet) cut open and filled to the brim with panna<\/em>, whipped cream. Here’s more about the great maritozzo<\/a>. Say what you want, but to me it’s quite light compared to the other pastries I’ve seen (and rejected). I prefer whipped cream over custard or egg cream any day.<\/p>\n

October means we’re far from summer by now. Fall is upon us. Thankfully, my cravings are in tune with the season, and I’m excited to start spending time in one of my favorite food seasons: Soup season! I love<\/a> making<\/a> soup<\/a>, with my own homemade chicken stock<\/a>, and during\u00a0a good week I’ll have soup several times a week.<\/p>\n

This\u00a0Creamy\u00a0Roasted Red Pepper Soup<\/a>\u00a0is colorful and simple to make. Added to to-dos.<\/p>\n

This\u00a0Sausage\u00a0and Sweet Potato Zucchini Lasagna<\/a>\u00a0has skyrocketed to the top of my to-make list.<\/p>\n

I am not a fan of chicken livers, but I now realize the reason why I love dirty rice so much is because<\/strong> of those livers. I’m sorry livers. Now I’m more of a fan. This\u00a0Dirty Thai Fried Rice<\/a>\u00a0takes the love one step further and incorporates some of those Thai flavors I love so much.<\/p>\n

And while we’re on the subject of Thai, these\u00a0Peanut\u00a0Noodles with Napa Cabbage<\/a>\u00a0will satisfy that peanut sauce craving I have in an instant.<\/p>\n

I started smuggling popcorn kernels back home because I love popping it at home, and now I’m excited to try some flavorful combinations. This\u00a0Furikake Kettle Corn<\/a>\u00a0seems like a great place to start.<\/p>\n

Another soup. Of course topping it with bacon will always catch my eye, but on top of this\u00a0Smoked Bacon Corn Cheese Chowder<\/a>, it just makes sense.<\/p>\n

When Mother’s Cookies briefly went out of business in 2008-2009, I had friends in California grab some animal cookies for me to put aside for my next trip. I have a lot of nostalgia in those impossibly pink-and-white-sprinkled cookies, and while I don’t crave them like I once did, I like the idea of incorporating them into a delicious ice cream. It’s coffee-flavored, which means it mashes up my adulthood and childhood in a way it’s never been done before.\u00a0No-Churn\u00a0Coffee Ice Cream with Circus Animal Cookie Crumbs<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This article about blogging “becoming a slog”<\/a> reminds me so much why I don’t want to intertwine my lifestyle too much<\/strong> into my site.
