It’s high time I did a gift guide for coffee lovers since I have a book for coffee lovers<\/a>! Most of the things on my Italy Gift Guide<\/a> are still good choices, but here are some more specific recommendations for the coffee lover.<\/p>\n

Here’s what I think is essential:<\/p>\n

A Moka pot<\/h3>\n

Bialetti moka espresso makers<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0are\u00a0your best bet. There are a lot of moka pots<\/a>! I wouldn’t get smaller than a 3-cup unless you live alone and plan to never have company :).<\/p>\n

Alessi moka pot<\/strong><\/a> \u2014\u00a0from one of my favorite design brands. Sign me up.<\/p>\n

I love love the look of Pantone espresso maker<\/strong><\/a> but I can’t vouch for its coffee-making abilities<\/del>\u00a0since publishing this I’ve been using one and it works great!\u00a0Beautiful colors<\/a> though.<\/p>\n

Espresso cups<\/h3>\n

These will count as one item, but let’s just spend a little time on it. There are so many options. And you could use more than one set at home, anyway. If you want to be fancy, you can even serve non-espresso in demitasse cups…<\/p>\n

Perc ~ Cafe [sic] + Espresso Cups\u00a0<\/strong>by Frank Criscione [site<\/a> \u00a0\/ shop<\/a>]\u00a0\u2014\u00a0I have been stalking these since the Kickstarter project! I love the idea of serving espresso or cappuccini in cups which resemble moka pots.<\/p>\n

Pantone espresso cups<\/a>.<\/strong> So many color combinations, so many possibilities.<\/p>\n

Le Creuset makes espresso cups<\/a><\/strong>, too and I love the colors which make their cooking ware.<\/p>\n

Bodum Pavina Espresso Cups<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span>I love Bodum (I have a bigger glass set I’ve used with desserts) and the double-wall means you shouldn’t burn your hands!<\/p>\n

I love color and these\u00a0POP coffee cup and saucers<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>are beautiful.<\/p>\n

A seriously spiky espresso cup<\/strong><\/a> will make others think twice about putting their hands on it.<\/p>\n

I never drink this much liquid myself (unless it’s tea) but I love the idea of an OFF and ON status in this color-changing cup<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Love the idea of using a Pantone color guide on the inside of a cup to determine how much milk you want in your\u00a0My Cuppa Coffee Mug<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Serious stirring spoons.<\/span><\/h3>\n

I love Illy’s “Ombra” spoon<\/a><\/strong> design, and I love how when you set them down, they don’t roll off the saucer! Illy<\/a>. Amazon<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A coffee container<\/h3>\n

Some people keep their beans in the freezer, but if you’re not keeping your coffee in an airtight container<\/a> you’re doing it a disservice. You can get some pretty decorated ones easily, and the stainless steel look is always a classic.<\/p>\n

A coffee grinder<\/h3>\n

I get my beans ground at our local torrefazione (coffee roaster),\u00a0<\/em>but grinding your own beans is great and I love the pre-brewing odor you get from grinding. There are a lot of coffee grinders<\/a><\/strong>, Krups is a great choice.<\/p>\n

A book about coffee<\/h3>\n

*ahem*.\u00a0You knew this was coming. Why not give them a\u00a0nifty little guide to ordering Italian coffee<\/a>\u00a0correctly? I hear the author knows what she’s talking about.<\/p>\n

Coffee note cards and Coffee Art<\/h3>\n
