In past years I’ve shared some beautiful<\/a> decorations<\/a> around<\/a> Milan<\/a> and some unusual ones<\/a>, too, but I thought I’d share what decorations I had in my own home this year.<\/p>\n

For the first time, I had a Christmas tree in my house<\/strong>. I grew up with a fresh pine tree each year, that my family and I went to cut down together, much like the Griswolds but without the frostbite. Now, we usually don’t get a tree since we spend the majority of our holidays at my in-laws or in another country, but this year I decided I wanted to start some of our own traditions, and bought a Christmas tree.<\/p>\n

Well, a little wooden Christmas tree, actually.<\/p>\n

\"My<\/a><\/p>\n

But I love it. We found it at the German Christmas market in Edinburgh, Scotland and brought it back to Italy. It makes me happy – I can spin it around and the little ornaments sway. I had fun deciding where to hang them. And it packs away flat so I can justify its addition to our tiny apartment.<\/p>\n
