Or are you too busy <strong>ego-surfing<\/strong> and <strong>photolurking<\/strong> to know? <\/li>\n<li>[Pandora] I&#8217;ve been playing a bit with internet radio <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pandora.com\/\">Pandora<\/a>. It definitely has potential and has provided some good holiday tunes &#8211; here&#8217;s my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pandora.com\/?sc=sh175025844380426166\">oldies Holiday station<\/a> on Pandora!<\/li>\n<li>[Menu for Hope] I can&#8217;t believe there are only two days left! You have until Friday to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.firstgiving.com\/menuforhopeIII\">donate<\/a>!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Of course, we also ate pretty well in London. My friend Celia made me a wonderful English Breakfast, a true <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fry_up\">Fry up<\/a> with pancakes, which didn&#8217;t make it into the picture. Ah, she makes it seem so effortless. <\/p>\n<p><center><\/p>\n<p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/msadventuresinitaly\/320727978\/\" title=\"Photo Sharing\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/static.flickr.com\/133\/320727978_756c53ef56.jpg?resize=500%2C375\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" alt=\"English Breakfast\" \/><\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p><\/center><\/p>\n<p>She lives in <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/East_Putney\">East Putney<\/a> and the day started out pretty nice &#8211; here&#8217;s a view of Putney (as seen from East Putney). We walked along the Thames for a bit before it started to get too windy and we had to seek refuge in a shopping center.<\/p>\n<p><center><\/p>\n<p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/msadventuresinitaly\/320727993\/\" title=\"Photo Sharing\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/static.flickr.com\/143\/320727993_8801002d20.jpg?resize=500%2C375\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" alt=\"Putney\" \/><\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p><\/center><\/p>\n<p>This is perhaps <strong>my favorite picture I snapped while I was in England<\/strong>. The sun was playing games with us by this time of day and when you were in the shade, it was incredibly chilly. We came around the corner on the way back from the Thames and I saw this tree completely lit up and it said something to me. I encourage you to click on the larger one to check it out. I know the picture can&#8217;t capture it completely, but it was lovely.<\/p>\n<p><center><\/p>\n<p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/msadventuresinitaly\/320728022\/\" title=\"Photo Sharing\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/static.flickr.com\/132\/320728022_6e8c98740a.jpg?resize=375%2C500\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" alt=\"An Enlightened Tree\" \/><\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p><\/center><\/p>\n<p>One night we were out with friends and they said, &#8220;Let&#8217;s go for <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Beigel\">beigels<\/a>.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Bagels?&#8221; I was hungry, but we were on <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Brick_Lane\">Brick Lane<\/a> and I was hoping for a bit of an Indian fix.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Yeah, beigels. There&#8217;s this place that makes great beigels nearby.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Open 24 hours and Beigels<\/strong>. Possibly the antithesis to everything in Italy. But momma didn&#8217;t raise no fool, and I was up for it immediately.<\/p>\n<p><center><\/p>\n<p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/msadventuresinitaly\/320727937\/\" title=\"Photo Sharing\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/static.flickr.com\/137\/320727937_af8a776032.jpg?resize=500%2C375\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" alt=\"Beigels on Brick Lane\" \/><\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p><\/center><\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s traffic in this place at any time of the day, and for good reason: it is good and fresh, and it is <strong>cheap<\/strong>. Cheap is something that I <strong>never<\/strong> associate with London, and when you have good and cheap together in London, not only is it an anomaly, it&#8217;s heaven. This beigel was only 80p, just a bit over a euro. Plain beigels were <strong>only 18p<\/strong> &#8211; did anyone tell them about the strength of the local currency?? I bought a loaf of dark rye for only 55p. I thought to myself, &#8220;Self, that <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Corned_beef\">salted beef looks very similar to corned beef<\/a> that is eaten on St. Patrick&#8217;s Day.&#8221; And what do you know, self was right. <\/p>\n<p><center><\/p>\n<p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/msadventuresinitaly\/320727903\/\" title=\"Photo Sharing\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/static.flickr.com\/138\/320727903_80ca9079af.jpg?resize=500%2C375\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" alt=\"Salted beef on a beigel\" \/><\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Very satisfying overall, and the cheap cheap prices almost made me load up my emaciated backpack with beigels and take them back to Italy to sell for not cheap cheap. Almost. The only thing that was missing, that would have caused me to root my feet to that very spot and simultaneously change my postal code, was the absence of flavoured cream cheese. I love me some garlic &#038; herb cream cheese. Or onion. Or Jalapeno. *Drool*<\/p>\n<p>Brick Lane Beigels ver2.0 ? Someone write their congressman.
