{"id":264,"date":"2006-12-19T20:07:32","date_gmt":"2006-12-19T20:07:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.sararosso.com\/index.php\/2006\/12\/19\/three-christmas-trees\/"},"modified":"2011-11-12T23:37:26","modified_gmt":"2011-11-12T21:37:26","slug":"three-christmas-trees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.msadventuresinitaly.com\/blog\/2006\/12\/19\/three-christmas-trees\/","title":{"rendered":"Three Christmas Trees in Milan"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>[Funny video] I found this yesterday but didn&#8217;t think it fit with my post &#8211; SNL was hilarious this weekend with Justin Timberlake hosting &#8211; check out his skits &#8211; D in a Box is my absolute favorite (warning: language may offend)<\/li>\n<li>[Wine tools] A very cool &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wineenthusiast.com\/E\/details.asp?Ep=An\/354+203\/\/A\/20191&#038;uid=CCDABC5A%2DA703%2D4923%2DB6B9%2D88524A39CAD9\">Octopus wine aerator<\/a>.&#8221; This will have to please the wine lover you know.<\/li>\n<li>[Terrible mistakes in comic books] I can&#8217;t believe they <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boingboing.net\/2006\/12\/18\/betty_and_veronica_r.html\">redesigned Betty &#038; Veronica<\/a>. I seriously am sad. It looks terrible.<\/li>\n<li>[A Menu for Hope] Don&#8217;t forget to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.firstgiving.com\/menuforhopeIII\">donate<\/a>. Remember, I just <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msadventuresinitaly.com\/blog\/2006\/12\/18\/new-additions-to-the-artigianale-basket-for-a-menu-for-hope\/\">added two more items to my basket!<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This weekend I only did three things: <strong>Bake, Read, and Walk through il Centro di Milano<\/strong>, the center of Milan. <\/p>\n<p>We don&#8217;t have a Christmas tree at home this year, but I am surrounded by them!  <strong>Which one do you like best? Are there any good Christmas trees around you?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is the tree that is decorated at work. Though it&#8217;s not a pine tree, I like it because it uses a tree that is already part of our landscaping (multi-use and recycling is good) and it&#8217;s the first and last thing I see at the office so it helps improve my mood and remind me it&#8217;s the holiday season. <\/p>\n<p><center><\/p>\n<p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/msadventuresinitaly\/323980790\/\" title=\"Photo Sharing\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/static.flickr.com\/138\/323980790_e82be62476.jpg?resize=375%2C500\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" alt=\"Our \"Tree\" at work\" \/><\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p><\/center><\/p>\n<p>This is the tree the Comune di Milano provided (the City Hall-government) and it&#8217;s right in front of the Duomo which is very very ugly right now &#8211; since it&#8217;s still covered up, this is an excuse to use the &#8220;covered-up&#8221; space to display ads. I can&#8217;t wait until it gets back to normal. I feel a little snarky but the Comune tree is pretty scraggly and reminds me of the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Charlie_Brown_Christmas\">Charlie Brown Christmas<\/a> tree. Poor tree. At least it&#8217;s got a nice backdrop.<\/p>\n<p><center><\/p>\n<p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/msadventuresinitaly\/323980877\/\" title=\"Photo Sharing\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/static.flickr.com\/129\/323980877_c7a28dac91.jpg?resize=375%2C500\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" alt=\"The Comune Tree\" \/><\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Maybe my previous comments make more sense once you see this tree &#8211; this is the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Swarovski\">Swarovski<\/a> tree, only a few meters from the Comune tree, decorated of course with Swarovski crystals and about a million lights, and if possible, an even better gilded backdrop.
