This Saturday finds me in London, and of course if I was able to, I would post a big Red Doubledecker bus.<\/p>\n

But for now, I’ll just post some other visions of red I’ve had lately.<\/p>\n

For some reason the color red as well as the word have some special meaning for me since my last name means red in Italian. When I introduce myself in Italy, most people have no problem recognizing my name as Italian. But it’s a strange recognition because Rosso is not a common last name – in fact it’s more common to hear Russo or Rossi.<\/p>\n

Here’s some of my favorite reds……….<\/p>\n

From the Artigiano in Fiera I mentioned earlier, there was a lot of “red” food – here’s some salame and peperonicini from Calabria –<\/p>\n

Of course, candy is a favorite, and red candy is great, too – some red hard candy they were breaking with wire cutters –<\/p>\n

And one of my favorite reds – this time a morning in Trastevere from my old apartment – I saw red filtering in through my blinds and wondered what was going on. When I opened them, I was greeted with this sight:<\/p>\n
