I think I have diagnosed one of my many mental illnesses. It began as a small problem, then slowly splintered, spidered and morphed into many little problems.<\/p>\n

I have Writer’s ADD.<\/p>\n

You’ve never heard of it? Well, I just patented that one, too. I’m sure it will get quite popular. Unfortunately, the only treatment is actually indulging it. So it’s a hopeless cause.<\/p>\n

I can handle these blogs with no problem because they usually focus on one subject and don’t take longer than a few hours to write (max). But I admit that I sometimes have multiple drafts open at the same time.<\/p>\n

Now that I’m trying to work on some “novel” concepts, I’m having serious trouble. Focusing on one story, that is. I have a lot of ideas, I’m not running out of creativity. I think I’m actually full of TOO MUCH creativity.<\/p>\n

I started with my original idea, one that had been broiling in me for a while. I created a folder on my computer to store all those important, pertinent documents. I gave it a name, because I couldn’t leave it “New Folder” and I hate “Untitled Project” ‘ it sounds a bit pretentious, and I’m not in the film industry, and my salary reminds me of that.<\/p>\n

So I called it PlanA.<\/p>\n

And PlanA chugged along and all was good in fine in Sara land.<\/p>\n

Until another little story cropped up. Actually, it jumped up, in the middle of me typing a PlanA sentence. It said, Hey! I’m interesting, too! In fact, I’m REALLY cool. And impatient. So start me now. Now! It’s a good idea, because everyone needs a PlanB, right? And you’re so rational. So reasonable. PlanB is a good investment.<\/p>\n

And PlanB was born.<\/p>\n

And they chugged along. choo choo choo.<\/p>\n

Except now, there’s even Plan I. I skipped a few letters for pure academic flashback nightmares, but still nursing quite a few. They fight with each other for airtime in my brain. If they’re lucky enough, I’m already sitting in front of the computer, and I’m able to put down a few thoughts.<\/p>\n

See, even blogs take on a life of their own…I was supposed to be talking about those olives, wasn’t I?<\/p>\n
