Let me count the ways.

First of all, very little or no commercials or station identification breaks. Second, usually you have song titles and artists for every song which is a wonderful way to explore new music and actually remember what it is next time. I keep a running text file with new songs I like. If I see artist repeats in my list, I buy their CD.

And, as fickle as I am, sometimes I’m in a classical mood, or ambient, or jazz. No annoying dial-flipping, static and tuning necessary. I leave without a second thought. And it always forgives me. When I come back, it’s ready with the same selection as before, waiting and open for my listening pleasure.

One of my coworkers left recently, and while I was sad to him go, I have to say that I immediately stole his coveted computer speakers. Now I can listen at work!

I found this site of Internet Radio stations – the Radio Locator – and it lists stations by location, country, genre, etc. Another site I found is: Live365 with station listings. If you want to go old school, you can use Yahoo LaunchCast – you can pick one of their pre-formatted stations, or you can tell it the genres and artists you want to hear, and continually customize and rate what you’re hearing. Though I remember there being quite a few commercials.

Any stations or links to share??

Who needs comedians with politicians like these: [Berlusconi compares self to Jesus] [Cheney shoots friend, not bird] Relaxing to: Traditional Persian music on Radio Darvish I have to say that I love internet radio.
