Warning: Mini-rant about Alitalia<\/p>\n
A friend from CA is flying in tonight via Moscow. Yes, he’s been in -35C weather for part of the week while out on business. Plus, he’s Indian, and as he told me, “Me and the cold don’t get along well. I can’t wait for 0 degrees!” <\/p>\n
He had booked Alitalia, and when I saw they were going on strike Wednesday, I let him know we were probably ok, given that he was coming on a Friday. Usually they only strike for one day. <\/p>\n
Until this time. <\/p>\n
Reading one of the free Milan papers today, I saw that they had cancelled 60% of flights yesterday and that they were expected to strike again today. I called the call center to get information and they said, “We can’t confirm anything right now. Try later.” <\/p>\n
A few hours later we confirmed his flight would be leaving. I started to track his flight online and found a peculiar result using their web form. <\/p>\n

I didn’t know there were THREE different times you had to know about. The time they sell you when you buy the ticket, the time that they want the plane to leave, and the time it will actually land.<\/p>\n
Bravo, Alitalia. It’s so strange that you should be having financial problems. <\/p>\n

My old phone was almost three years old and at the time I bought it, all I wanted was a phone with a flip cover so I could slam the call shut (yes, I gained lots of satisfaction from this). But recently I was charging it every day because the battery sucked, so now I’m focusing on battery. And itty-bitty. The best part is maybe that it glows blue.
