At the end of my last post about the A Wedding in Sicily and a Sicilian Food Feast!<\/a> I asked if you forgot about the desserts<\/strong>…I sure hadn’t!<\/p>\n

Despite the fact I am about to show you many, many torte (cakes) that were at the dessert buffet<\/strong> of our friend’s Sicilian wedding, at this point in the evening I was a little, erm, distracted due to the copious amounts of food<\/strong> (see previous post<\/a>), drinks and toasts<\/strong> (hint: at a Sicilian wedding, all you have to do is end every toast with “A Gli Sposi!” to justify your toast and subsequent drinking), and dancing<\/strong> (yes, I cut a rug like nobody’s business).<\/p>\n

So there was more<\/strong>, dear readers. And I fell short photographing it all for you, but that’s why it’s called a vacation, right?<\/p>\n

The Sacher Torte<\/a><\/strong>, Austrian in origin, but much loved in Italy.<\/p>\n

A semifreddo<\/strong> cake. Much like my Chocolate and Pistachio Semifreddo with Cacao Nibs.

A cake covered in Frutti di Bosco<\/strong> – wild (forest) berries.<\/p>\n

A cake made with Pan di Spagna<\/strong> – Italian sponge cake.<\/p>\n

Lots of fragole <\/strong>strawberries topped this cake.<\/p>\n

Another foreign favorite: the Sant’Honor\u00e9<\/a><\/strong> from France<\/p>\n

And yes, there was a classic wedding cake<\/strong> there, too, just in case one of the other cakes present didn’t work for you.<\/p>\n
