A++ 100% :) I work for\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/wordpress.com\">WordPress.com<\/a>, and I have many sites hosted there, so I suggest checking it out to see if it&#8217;s right for you. I have been hosting several WordPress sites there for years. I moved this site over there from another web hosting last year\u00a0and I bet you didn&#8217;t even notice!<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bluehost.com\/track\/sararosso\/\"><strong>Bluehost<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0They also have a 1-click install for WordPress sites and a great support staff.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And if you&#8217;re using WordPress, you really need the <a href=\"http:\/\/jetpack.me\">free Jetpack plugin<\/a>. Again, it&#8217;s made by people I work with, but it is awesome and in one plugin you have spam protection, related posts with images, cool photo galleries, statistics, even site monitoring in case your site goes down! There are thousands of free themes for self-hosted sites. After installing WordPress, you can get started looking at themes by going to your dashboard <em>Appearance &gt; Themes<\/em> and browse, or browse directly on the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/wordpress.org\/themes\/\">WordPress.org theme directory<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I go into detail on\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/whenihavetime.com\/2011\/02\/22\/ask-the-geek-how-do-i-find-and-install-a-wordpress-theme\/\">Ask the Geek: How Do I Find and Install a WordPress\u00a0theme?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;d rather buy a premium theme by a WordPress theme shop, be sure to <a href=\"http:\/\/wordpress.org\/themes\/commercial\/\">browse the list of commercial theme developers on the WordPress.org site<\/a> instead of searching directly in Google, as not all themes you can find online will be quality themes.<\/p>\n<p>My current theme is a paid theme, Foodie Pro from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shareasale.com\/r.cfm?b=241369&amp;u=998312&amp;m=28169&amp;urllink=&amp;afftrack=&quot;%20target=_blank onclick=&quot;onClickUnsafeLink(event);\">StudioPress<\/a>, and they offer many other themes.<\/p>\n<h3>Website\u00a0Resources<\/h3>\n<p>I provide countless hours of advice and support for friends and family with small businesses and startups. With that being said, if you&#8217;re not <a href=\"http:\/\/sararosso.us4.list-manage1.com\/subscribe?u=2f68fcf36b4afaaf003b4233e&amp;id=cdd99d71a5\">signed up for my newsletter<\/a>, here&#8217;s your chance!<\/li>\n<li>On my business &amp; technology site\u00a0are some <strong>podcasts<\/strong> I <a href=\"http:\/\/whenihavetime.com\/tag\/podcast\/\">recommend<\/a>, and check out\u00a0the podcast I co-host, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eyeonitaly.com\/podcast\">Eye on Italy<\/a>!<\/li>\n<li>If you like <strong>audio books<\/strong>, you can get <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Audible-Free-Trial-Digital-Membership\/dp\/B00NB86OYE\/?ref_=assoc_tag_ph_1422899139880&amp;_encoding=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;linkCode=pf4&amp;tag=msadventuresinitaly-20&amp;linkId=QJ5GBWPPPRN3GNBX\">two free audio books at Audible by using this link<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>For <strong>editing images<\/strong>, open source <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gimp.org\">GIMP<\/a> is a good (&amp; free!) option. I even wrote a tutorial on <a title=\"7 Easy Photoshop Tricks you can do with GIMP software (for Free!)\" href=\"http:\/\/whenihavetime.com\/2009\/12\/03\/7-easy-photoshop-tricks-you-can-do-with-gimp-software-for-free\/\">7 easy Photoshop tricks to do with GIMP<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>For <strong>free images<\/strong> to use with your own content, I think looking through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/search\/?q=cats&amp;l=cc&amp;ss=2&amp;ct=0&amp;mt=all&amp;w=all&amp;adv=1\">Creative Commons images on Flickr<\/a> is a great way. Here&#8217;s more on <a href=\"http:\/\/whenihavetime.com\/tag\/podcast\/\">finding images safely and legally<\/a> for your content, and <a title=\"A Guide to Copyright and Creative Commons\" href=\"http:\/\/whenihavetime.com\/2009\/02\/24\/a-guide-to-copyright-and-creative-commons\/\">what Creative Commons is<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Personal and Productivity Resources<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>For <strong>writing content<\/strong>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.literatureandlatte.com\/scrivener.php\">Scrivener<\/a> is amazing, especially for longer form and\/or novels. I use <a href=\"http:\/\/www.barebones.com\/products\/textwrangler\/\">TextWrangler<\/a> for (desktop) note-taking and drafts, and if I was still using a Windows machine, I would be using <a href=\"http:\/\/windows.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows-live\/essentials-other#essentials=overviewother\">Windows Live Writer<\/a>, quite possibly my favorite\u00a0software Windows has created.<\/li>\n<li>For <strong>lists and to-dos<\/strong>\u00a0(which I <a title=\"How I Organize my Email, Lists and Brainstorming: My Holy Trinity of Productivity\" href=\"http:\/\/whenihavetime.com\/2009\/09\/24\/how-i-organize-my-email-lists-and-brainstorming-my-holy-trinity-of-productivity\/\">love<\/a>), I can heartily recommend <a title=\"Wunderlist: A To-do List app you can use everywhere\" href=\"http:\/\/whenihavetime.com\/2011\/11\/11\/wunderlist-a-to-do-list-app-you-can-use-everywhere\/\">Wunderlist<\/a> which I&#8217;ve been using for several years.<\/li>\n<li>To save <strong>keystrokes <\/strong>by auto-inserting commonly used phrases, I love <a href=\"http:\/\/whenihavetime.com\/2011\/09\/01\/review-textexpander-typing-shortcut-software\/\">TextExpander<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>For<strong> reading\u00a0online content,<\/strong> I love <a href=\"http:\/\/www.feedly.com\">Feedly<\/a>. I&#8217;m a paid Pro user!<\/li>\n<li>For <strong>business cards<\/strong>, I love <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moo.com\">Moo<\/a> and have been using them since 2007. They are beautiful!
